1952 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn 4.6 Litre Four-Door with Ghia bodywork. This particular 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn 4.6 Litre Four-Door with Ghia bodywork is the only LHD example around out of a total production of two! On the 14th February 1952 this unique Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn was shipped as a bare chassis to Ghia in Turin, Italy. There the Rolls Royce was given its hand built bespoke bodywork. On the 7th June 1952 this Rolls Royce was supplied from new by Matorelli to a distinguished customer, the Contessa Ida Matarazzo. Shortly after delivery this car was shown at the Concours Villa Borghese, where it won the Gran Premio D’Onore. At the end of the fifties the Countess commissioned a number of alterations including enlarging the boot space by 20 cm to accommodate more luggage. In 1973 the Rolls Royce was sold to Sr. Pantanella. A few years later the car sold through the Frey collection in Switzerland to the then president of the German Rolls Royce Enthousiast club in Munich. He kept the car until in 1983 an American bought the car and had it completely restored in Zurich, Switzerland. The fine bodywork has very neat body panel fittings. In early 1989 the last owner took possession of this car and kept it for nearly 30 years. As one can see, the cars’ history is fully known, as is every owner. There is also a particularly meticulous record of documentation and the car has featured in various books and magazines. A truly unique chance to acquire this very special one-off Rolls Royce!
