Description
The R29 was Renault’s F1 entry for the 2009 season, driven by Fernando Alonso, Nelson Piquet Jr and Romain Grosjean. It was powered by a 2.4-litre V8 producing more than 750hp at 18,000rpm, coupled to a seven-speed carbon-titanium gearbox.
This is a Renault R29 Rollling chassis, which was constructed by the Renault F1 team using a Benetton B201 chassis and nose with race history, but with genuine R29 panels and parts elsewhere. A correct livery was then applied, complete with sponsor logos. Genuine OZ Racing wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tyres are also installed.
Inside, there is a moulded seat with harness brackets, and it features a genuine carbon-fibre steering wheel from a raced R29. The car also comes with an original race suit used by Fernando Alonso in the 2009 season.
As you would expect given its life as a static Show Car, this Renault R29 Recreation is in excellent condition, with no significant damage or wear.
For a Renault F1 enthusiast or dedicated motorsport collector, this represents a great opportunity to acquire an authentic piece of memorabilia. Having started life as a Benetton F1 car, and raced in several Grand Prix, this car was then converted by Renault to R29 Show Car specification and remains in superb order. It would be a fantastic addition to any assembly of static or running racing cars, and a great talking point for any collection.
