This Renault 5 Turbo 1 is currently configured for Gr.4/Gr.B rallies.
Never been used in competitions and easily to be converted for road use.
Car delivered new in Italy, where it remained, with its original registration plates until two years ago.
Original bodywork and interiors, and excellently preserved.
Mechanics completely restored by the previous owner, who kept the car for around eight years. The engine was rebuilt entirely using new components: turbine, sleeves, hoses, fuel pumps and injectors. The radiator was overhauled and the tank float was replaced. In addition, the car was fitted with a new clutch disc and pressure plate, overhauled brake calipers and brake pumps, and overhauled drive shafts, gearbox and steering box. The original wheel rims were restored to as new condition.
The car still has its original aluminum data plate in the front compartment.
This is a highly original car that still retains several elements of the original period preparation: the reinforced shell, the set-up on original Renault Sport adjustable rings, the Tour De Corse type strut bar, the  Gr. 4 steering box supports, the double radiator fan and the larger intercooler. Also available, although never used in the car, is the engine block of the original Renault Sport “200 HP preparation kit”, with the cylinders re-bored to take the total displacement to (almost) 1.5 liters.
It comes complete with FIA homologation document and Group B technical passport.
This car is a very interesting opportunity for those wishing to take part in historic events with a Turbo 1; others may instead be more interested in finishing the car in race configuration for classic rally events.
