The Porsche 911 is now just three years away from its fiftieth birthday. No other sports car has had anything like the same longevity, none can rival the German car's versatility or variety. Dozens and dozens – perhaps even hundreds – of different models have been marketed and sold.
But here's the thing: how many of them have attained true superstar status? Not very many – perhaps only a handful.
