The first turbo engines appeared on the 911 generation of Porsches, available on the Turbo 3.0L and the Turbo 3.3L known as the "930". Produced from 1978, the 930 Turbo 3.3L increased in displacement to 300 hp, compared with 260 hp for the 3.0L. October 1988 saw the introduction of the G50 gearbox, giving the model the 5 gears so much desired by customers.
The 930 is easily recognizable from the outside, with widened front and rear fenders, Fuchs rims, an imposing spoiler and bumper gussets. Originally, only 500 examples of the 930 were to be produced in order to take part in Le Mans. In the end, however, the success of this model prompted the German company to continue production. It's true that this Porsche requires a good grasp of the basics, especially when it comes to dosing the throttle on wet roads and in bends, because when the turbo kicks in, power is in short supply.

The car was delivered new to Germany in September 1989 in full black livery, with a host of optional extras including sunroof, air conditioning, electric windows and seats, 40% auto-lock and many more.
The car was quickly sold by its owner, and taken over for the new 964. Our example arrived in France, and we know that it was acquired directly from the first dealer by a garage in Lyon, which quickly sold it to one of its French customers. The latter kept it for 16 years and sold it to the current owner, a collector from the Lyon region. This car has thus spent the last 33 years in the Lyon region.
Today, it is in very good condition, with the original paintwork exceptionally well preserved. The car has always been well-maintained, and recently had 4 new tires fitted.
