Description

Chassis No. WP0EB0932HS070144

Perhaps one of the least understood models to emerge from Porsche's Sonderwunsch (Special Wishes) Department, the 911 Turbo Slantnose has recently received a second look from those Porsche enthusiasts and collectors that revere the model not only for its racing department looks but its rarity and hand-built construction. Some of the confusion stems from the special wishes nature and myriad of changes that featured in early 1981-1986 models. By 1987, due to customer demand, a new option appeared on PCNA price lists: M505. This new Slantnose option order code cleared up much confusion in not only the ordering process but the associated costs ($23,826) as well.

The original owner of this special 911 Turbo went 'all in' at their local Porsche dealer in 1987 ordering the most expensive model (911 Turbo), the most expensive body style (Cabriolet), the most expensive option by far (M505 Slantnose). Not to be outdone by anyone else – it was the 1980s after all – additional options selected were front heated seats with lumbar support, an electric Cabriolet soft top, and limited-slip differential all topped off with all-black color scheme, inside and out. Today, this matching numbers 911 Turbo Slantnose is a standout example due to its looks but also its history without modifications retaining its original cassette radio, original service books, toolkit, and jack showing just under 38,000 miles from new. Most recently, this M505 underwent a recent engine-out service and ice blast detail, records for which are available in the accompanying history file.
