Chassis No. WP0ZZZ91ZKS152516

The 1987 Carrera Speedster Studie, released in 1987 at IAA Frankfurt Auto Show, was one of Porsche's first attempts at reviving a retro concept. It was met with resounding excitement and the serial production version debuted shortly thereafter in 1989, offering many of the same styling features of the Speedster Studie. A driver-centric interior featured prominently with a lowered windshield and dual hump rear clamshell cover replacing the rear seats to complete the iconic Speedster shape. These exterior styling touches resulted in the windshield being about three inches shorter than that of a Carrera which resulted in incredible body lines immediately catching the attention of collectors as the sendoff of the widely popular generation of 911 that dominated the 1980s.

Most 1989 911 Speedsters were ordered as "wide body" Turbo-look variants and while the Speedster is already a collectible model, there is an even rarer version. That same year Porsche produced approximately 171 "narrow body" Speedsters based on the body shell of a 3.2-liter 911 Carrera. A perfect compliment to the proportions and style of the raked windshield and rear clamshell cover, these narrow body Speedsters are considered the connoisseur's choice. Offered with 29,288 km or approximately 18,199 miles, this C09 Swedish market 911 Speedster is finished in optional Silver Metallic, and along with its rarely seen narrow body specification, it features desirable optional extras. Sport seats, short shifter, an alarm, and luggage compartment in velour all feature prominently. Most attractive is the color combination. Silver Metallic is a classic and therefore often seen Porsche color, however, paired with the interior, believed to be leather and carpeting in special order Velvet Red it comes alive harkening back to the original colors of 356 Speedsters from the 1950s. A well-coordinated black soft top pairs perfectly with the black centered 16-inch Fuchs wheels rounding out the exterior.

With low mileage and four owners from new, this well-documented narrow body Speedster retains its original manuals, including the service book and toolkit. While the four-spoke steering wheel has been swapped for an earlier three-spoke version, the original steering wheel is included for those wishing to return to the original style.
