EXTERIOR
This stunning GT3 RS is finished in Carrara White, the only colour available for Porsches flagship track special RS machine. Presenting extremely well the white paintwork appears to be almost completely original, with the exception of the bonnet as the common 996 trademark micro-blistering on carbon fibre bonnet has been dealt with.
Standing out from the white paintwork this is believe to be one of only 30 C16 cars with the Riviera Blue Side decals proudly displaying its RS designation, with the matching wheels. Framing the rear of the car the vast carbon fibre rear wing presents perfectly with no lacquer peeling or damage.
Proudly perched on the carbon fibre bonnet, the Porsche emblem is a sticker rather than a cast emblem to save weight, summing up Porsches commitment to performance on this ultimate RennSport. The plastic rear window is in good condition with no crazing and just a small area showing some light scratches. The rest of the green tinted glass around the car and light fittings is in excellent condition.
INTERIOR
Minimally appointed the interior of the 996 GT3 RS is very much a functional space, fusing lightweight race car design with a hint of road car refinement. Consuming the rear of the car the full white roll cage certainly adds a focused feel to the space, as do the alcantara steering wheel, gear stick and fire extinguisher, which all appear to have been directly borrowed from a GT series racer while a radio and AC provide some comforts for the road or the journey to the track.
Synonymous with this era of Porsche, the fabric covered bucket seats are in perfect condition with no wear marks or tears and hug both driver and passenger tight into the seat.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 3.6L unit in the 996 GT3 RS was modified from the engine that featured in the standard GT3, with the cylinder heads reshaped for race homologation. Porsche claim the same power output as the standard GT3 but on their own control dyno it showed a jump to nearly 400 hp. Additional power comes from a ram air duct effect on the engine bay which force air into the intake with 18mb of pressure at 187 mph creating a further 15 hp.
Having covered 27k miles from new this fabled Mezger engine is in excellent order. Noted in the maintenance book are 7 service stamps, its last major service at 27,150 miles. In addition the latest maintenance undertaken in 2024 is a an oil service and gearbox rebuild by Paragon Porsche, as such the car runs and drives perfectly.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Finished in a tonal shade of Riviera Blue the RS’ 18″ lightweight alloys present in excellent order, free from any scuffs or signs of curbing. Each wheel is wrapped in premium Michelin Pilot Sport tyres which provide fantastic levels of grip and show with ample tread all around. Discs and pad material is plenty full and showing in good condition.
