Description
The 911, a sports car for the discerning enthusiast. Built for those who truly use their cars. It’s the Rolex Submariner of the automotive world; precise, versatile, and engineered, well, like a Swiss watch.
The second generation of the water-cooled 911, the 997, arrived in 2004. Gone were the divisive headlamps of the previous generation 996, replaced by a more traditional 911 design. The 997 quickly became a favorite among enthusiasts, as Porsche managed to capture the spirit of a classic 911 in a far more refined and usable package.
This car, registered in March of 2009, is a facelifted 997.2. That means it gets tweaked styling throughout and slight improvements to interior quality over an earlier car. Uniquely finished in Macadamia Metallic, it makes for an uncommon sight, especially during a time when white, silver and grey dominated car sales.
The chocolatey brown exterior is complemented by bright silver 18” alloy wheels, which have clearly been taken care of, as even the inner barrels are clean! The wheels are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin tyres.
Step inside and you’re greeted with optional sports seats, trimmed in Cocoa leather. The leather extends through the rest of the interior and features beautiful contrast stitching. The seats, which feature electric recline functions, are also heated for those chilly winter mornings.
The central area of the dash is dominated by the Porsche PCM unit, an upgrade over earlier 997.1 generation cars and of course, the 6-speed manual gear lever. The instrument cluster shows the car has covered just over 54,000 miles, and the interior condition is testament to that.
At the rear is a 3.6-litre direct-injected flat-six that produces 345bhp, a 20bhp gain over the earlier car. Additionally, these later engines are considered more reliable, with no IMS bearing woes concerning you. Mated to an aforementioned 6-speed manual gearbox, the power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. It is a true enthusiast's 911 in a no-nonsense specification.
Despite its comparatively low mileage, the car has been maintained regularly both within the Porsche dealer network and with specialists.
In November 2024, the car was sent to Lakeside Classics for a comprehensive program of work. Alongside a major service and drive belt replacement, it received new brake discs, pads, and flexible hoses, as well as new A/C condensers, an upper sump gasket, rear suspension arms, a vacuum pump, and a steering rack.
Minor improvements and remedial works were also undertaken, including the replacement of corroded heatshields, the installation of a new battery, and the fitting of fresh wiper blades. The total cost of this work exceeded £9,000 and has resulted in a 911 that is in peak condition, ready to be enjoyed.

997s are fast becoming modern classics, with desirability skyrocketing as enthusiasts seek out what many regard as some of Porsche’s finest water-cooled work. The 997.2 refines the formula further, with subtle improvements that make it a slightly nicer place to be, along with a bit more power.
Without stopping for a second, you could easily overlook this car. But considering its uncommon yet understated color, its nature is clear. Each choice during specification has been made carefully to build the purest 911 experience possible.
As with all our vehicles, a full digital folder is available on request containing more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The car can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
