Description

Chassis No. WP0CA29931S651927

The new water-cooled 911 was a shock to the system when introduced to the automotive world in 1997. Yet, today, it is obvious that the change was necessary, with the progression delivering all manner of fantastic and collectible Porsche sports cars over the past 25 years. On the leading edge of that revolution were cars like this 2001 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. Designed with permanent all-wheel drive, the new 996-generation Carrera 4 was added to the 911 model series in early 1999. The Cabriolet was designed in concert with the Coupe, eliminating much of the potential harshness from the typical open-topped variant. What had shocked many just a few years earlier had turned into a sales success, with Porsche enthusiasts warming to the idea of a water-cooled 911 and ordering special examples like this one.

The original window sticker on file reveals this Carrera 4 Cabriolet, finished in the exceptionally rare color of Rain Forest Green Metallic, was originally delivered to the world famous Brumos Porsche dealership in Jacksonville, Florida, before being transferred to Feduke Motor Co. of Binghamton, New York. Graphite Grey was selected as the interior color along with a color-matched soft top. Factory fitted options included a three-spoke steering wheel and the Advanced Technic Package which included headlight washers, digital sound processor with hi-fi sound, a wind deflector, Litronic headlights, an on-board computer, and a CD changer. Furthermore, this example features the ever-popular "row your own" six-speed manual transmission. Rare for a 911 of this era, the clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals long-term original ownership from 2001 until 2021 and an impressively low 8,280 miles accumulated in that time.

Now firmly under the umbrella of Porsche Classic, it might be easy to overlook that the early-2000s 911s are quite the performance car with zero to 60 flashing by in 5.2 seconds and a top track speed of 174 miles per hour. Today this Cabriolet remains a highly original example in an exceptional color combination and is offered with 8,318 miles at the time of cataloging. The car features numerous delivery items including its original window sticker, original delivery temp tag, Brumos sales sheet, books with original stamped service booklet, and an abundance of service invoices. In addition, the car features its trunk mounted toolkit and wind deflector in bag.
