Description

The 50th anniversary of something as special as the Porsche 911 could not go unheralded and, in 2014, the German automaker responded with the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition, a distillation of all the elements that made the 911 such a legendary sports car. Always keen towards numerology, Porsche would build only 1,963 examples – a number denoting the year of the 911’s introduction – which became instantly sought-after as much for their significance as for their configuration and performance.

Created by longtime Porsche designer Tony Hatter, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition utilized the wide body of the Carrera 4S, yet remained traditionally rear-wheel drive. The 20" SportClassic Fuchs-style wheels evoked 911s of decades past, as did the Graphite Grey paint with Classic Interior shown on the example presented here. When first released, Motor Trend magazine was smitten, calling the special-edition 911 the “best-looking Porsche ever, and best 911 ever.”

Showing a mere 75 miles when catalogued, this well-appointed example is optioned with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, heated seats, auto-dim mirrors, fire extinguisher, ParkAssist, Bose Surround Sound System, and power-folding side mirrors. Equipped with a traditional manual seven-speed gearbox and the 430-bhp PowerKit-equipped flat-six engine, the impeccable 911 50th Anniversary Edition offered here is both a thrilling driver and a worthy capstone to a half century of Porsche greatness.
