Description

Estimated Price: £70,000 - £80,000

Boasting a very limited production run with very few destined for the UK, the 996 Turbo S came at the very end of the 996 production cycle in 2005 and was given an amazing specification as standard by the factory.

The engine was essentially the same as the standard Turbo but was fitted with VarioCam Plus, a further development of the familiar VarioCam system, which changes both the intake camshaft timing (by as much as 25°) as well as the intake valve lift. Bigger turbos from the X50 Powerkit were fitted boosting output to 450bhp and the car's top speed broke through that magic 300km/h barrier, with a maximum of 190mph (307km/h) placing it firmly in supercar territory. PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes) were fitted to the S as standard, as were a 6-disc CD player and aluminium-faced instruments.

With just over 16,000 miles and one registered keeper from new, this stunning UK-supplied 2006 Guards Red 911 Turbo S manual gearbox car features the ultra-rare, factory-optioned Turbo Aerokit, giving it a unique look and stance. Well optioned from new, the specification includes, seat heating, electric sunroof, PCM 2 with telephone and SatNav, turbo sports chassis, stainless tail pipes, door entry guards in carbon, diff lock, wheel spokes and centre console painted in exterior colour, 4-part black leather trim, 18" Sport Techno wheels, sports seats with back painted in body colour, red seatbelts with Porsche crest on seats, anti-dazzle mirrors, rear wiper, headlight cleaning, cruise-control PSM, electronic air-conditioning, Xenon lights and carbon inserts on dashboard centre and vents.

It was purchased new from the Roland Hall dealership in Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire and formed part of its first owner's Collection, used occasionally and serviced by RW Autos of London SE1. In recent years, the Porsche has been stored at Roger Bennington's Stratton Motor Company with further occasional use and has now covered just over 16,000 miles from new. This warranted mileage is confirmed by the previous owner and the car's MOT history.

In November 2024, the Porsche was purchased by Iconic Auctioneers as a car obviously needing a mechanical refresh, but with the potential to make an amazing collectible classic when the work was carried out. In February 2025, it was sent to Porsche Centre Solihull where a major service was completed (including the drive belt) and the car was treated to fresh brake fluid and all the transmission oils, new carbon brake pads, a new instrument cluster (the previous one was porous), all four alloys were reconditioned and painted and two new tyres completed the car's rejuvenation. The total bill just for the mechanical work was £12,654.

The car was then collected and used lightly by Iconic Auctioneers owner, Nick Whale, but a hesitancy in the twin-turbo response was detected and the car within a short time was sent away again, this time to renowned specialists, Autofarm, to examine and rectify. This turned in to a significant further spend with the engine having to be removed from the car and split from the gearbox, both turbos rebuilt, the dual-mass flywheel and accumulator replaced, along with a new clutch and all new oil and water pipes throughout. This work amounted to a further £15,482 spend at Autofarm, including a fresh geometry set-up and a thorough road test on completion. We can therefore confirm that this car is now fully mechanically restored by the best in the business and is ready to be used and enjoyed with all work completed finally in April 2025 at a cost of over £30,000 in total.

Offered with its original book pack (including service booklet), original tools and its V5C, this beautiful Turbo S now represents a very rare opportunity to acquire one of these exclusive, last of the line, ultimate Type 996 models that can only become increasingly collectible and is now offered in a condition commensurate with its low mileage and extensive recent attention.
