Superb mechanics with 75hp
Very extensive records dating back to 1964
Very well preserved example
The car presented here is a lovely and solid left-hand drive 1964 Porsche 356C Coupé in genuine and original condition. It is a Belgium registered car but it was originally delivered in the United States. The first owner was very meticulous - with records dating back to the very first years!
The car was used by the last owner - a real Porsche passionate - to participate in the famous Belgian Zoute Grand Prix rally and was maintained accordingly. Mechanics look and feel very solid and up to date and we can see new bushings, shock absorbers, restored engine and gearbox and more.
We gave the car a major service including new fluids and filters and it now presents as a very solid and usable example, in genuine and original condition. The car's body work show some minor signs of use and has obviously seen a repaint before, invoice dating back to 1986. We can still see the chassis number stamped in the engine lid and a lot of original parts like chrome work, lights, glass, deco trim,... . We welcome any inspection, as this will show this car is an unmolested and solid example that has just been waiting for a new lease of life.
The car features a very well preserved and superbly original interior in leatherette with original carpeting, original green-tinted VDO dials and a lovely steering wheel. The car is shod with the original date stamped 15-inch steel wheels (and spare wheel) with chrome hub caps and Vredestein Classic tyres.
Although there's no records of a recent engine rebuild it clearly shows that major work was performed, this is also confirmed by our tests. Compression is good all round. The engine starts at the turn of the key, runs amazingly and is very eager to rev. Shifting is quick and very smooth for this rebuilt gearbox!
This Porsche 356 C Coupe by Karmann is a charming classic, presented in adorable condition and with very solid mechanics. Offering charm, style, and an engaging driving experience, and now looking for a new owner to enjoy this classic 356.
The car comes with a very large binder of invoices, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, an original Californian license plate,... The car currently has Belgian registration.
