Description
A unique and exclusive opportunity to add an incredibly rare Porsche to your premium collection.
The epitome of sportiness of all 356 incarnations bare the Carrera name and were powered by the famous Fuhrman engine, named after its developer. When new, the Carrera 2 was more than twice the price of the standard 356B 1600, being the most expensive Porsche on the line-up of its time.
It's 2000cc GS engine with its horizontally opposed four cylinders, derived from the legendary 550 speedsters, offered an unseen 130bhp that offers this Porsche and incredible handling, even compared to today's standard, restrained by its four-wheel disc brakes.
Some subtle changes on the outside complete the package. The rear bumper sports the front bumper guards excluding the exhaust ports. On the front the horn grilles are deleted to improve airflow to the 2 extra oil radiators.
This fine example offered here is fully matching numbers and one of only 63 build. It has undergone a major nuts and bolt restoration, and could easily be better than when it left the factory.
All of this is packed in a pristine heron-grey paint finished off with its black leather interior.
It comes with its original chrome wheels and electric antenna as stated on the factory certificate of authenticity. You'll receive its fully documented history files, together with all restoration invoices and fully documented photobook of all the work that has been done, from its bare shell to its final glory.
In short: you simply won't find any other as fine example of a 356 Carrera 2 Convertible for sale anywhere, making it a highly praised investment that can actually be enjoyed to the fullest.
