Description
With the C-model, built from mid-1963, the last evolution of the Porsche 356, first constructed in 1948, had been reached. The very popular sportster now had disc brakes on all four wheels and the 1.6 litre boxer engine delivered 75 horsepower with the C and 95 horsepower with the SC model. The car offered is a Swiss delivery, sold through AMAG in Zurich, and was first registered on the 29th October 1963. Already in mid-1964 with then roughly 2,500 kilometres driven, the Porsche was sold to the Bern area and, in 1969, taken over by the vendor from the then second owner. He clearly cherished his Coupé and in the last 55 years covered well over 100’000 kilometres with it. Years ago, he had the coachwork restored and repainted in its original colour. The interior was renewed as well, and the original black fabric/vinyl combination was replaced with brown leather with colour matching carpets. In 2012 the matching numbers 75 horsepower engine received a welcome boost to 90 horsepower courtesy of two twin Weber carburettors and the gearbox was checked and re-sealed. In 2019 around 5’000 kilometres ago the engine was re-sealed as well, the ignition distributor overhauled and the master brake cylinder replaced. Some receipts are available and will be handed over with the car. With now 3 owners and around 188’000 kilometres driven, the Porsche is in good to very good condition and boasts its original service booklet, the original owner’s manual as well as the warranty card for the original radio. The last Veteran MOT was successfully completed in May 2023.
