Description
The Valiant, built from 1959, was, on one hand, the entry model from Chrysler, but at the same time the export model from Plymouth and with four generations made until 1976, proved very successful. Our example from this last generation was delivered by AMAG Schinznach and handed over to its first owner through AMAG Bern on the 26th of May 1975. As the most luxurious “Broughmam” version, the Valiant boasts a 5.2 litre V8 engine, an automatic gearbox, power steering and disc brakes to the front. In addition, the car was ordered new with air conditioning and individual seats to the front. The owner, a businessman from Burgdorf, used the noble Valiant until 1991/92 but during that time only covered around 41’000 kilometres. The Plymouth then disappeared for 15 years in the private collection of a Chrysler garage agent before, on the 13th of April 2007 with then 41’900 kilometres covered, it was taken over by a collector. He meticulously maintained a logbook before passing the car on in June 2015 to a next owner. In August 2019 finally, the Plymouth was taken over by the vendor. In 2020 at around 49’000 kilometres, corrosion in the spare wheel well was removed and the area repainted, the brake callipers including their hoses replaced, together with the rear shock absorbers. Additionally, the car received a new exhaust system and at the end of 2024 a new battery was installed. The original service booklet, the original owner’s manual, the car’s history and the build sheet are available and the mileage of only 51’500 kilometres is well documented. The very rare Valiant - only 17,803 examples were built in 1975 - is in good to very good, meticulously maintained and absolutely original condition. The most recent Veteran MOT was completed in August 2020.
