Description
"DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTIONIn 1972, Panther West Winds Ltd. of Weybridge, Surrey produced a Jaguar powered 3.8 litre Jaguar SS100 inspired, open two-seat tourer. Built with a separate tubular chassis with a handbuilt aluminium body, it provided startling performance combined with excellent handling. This new motorcar was described as having a superb standard of engineering and finish with Connolly leather and Wilton carpets, with most exposed areas being chrome plated and the dashboard veneered in burr walnut. The Jaguar 3.8 litre straight-six engine, tuned as per the Mk. II Jaguar, was mated to an all synchromesh four-speed gearbox with Laycock overdrive operating in top gear only. All Panther J72 cars had their first owner's name stamped on a plate within the engine compartment. This example is fitted with a 4.2 litre engine and looks superb. It is reported to run and drive well by the current vendor who has had the car for some 25 years. Dry stored during his tenure, this Panther presents well and comes with a history file including its V5C registration document and various sundry invoices. Offered at a very attractive estimate, this example is ready for its new owner.Interested parties should note that the photograph used a file image and the website will be updated with correct photographs in due course."
