"The Oldsmobile 88 was produced in various guises from 1949 to 1999. The 88 was the best-selling model for the 25 years that followed 1950. All Oldsmobiles were completely restyled for 1959 with the 88 Series given longer, lower and wider styling on a new chassis. This model had for several years been an image leader for the Oldsmobile company and, although the title is disputed by some it was considered to be the first muscle car. The styling highlights for this model were promoted as the ‘linear look’ by Oldsmobile and include thin pillars that create a large open greenhouse effect and a simpler but bold new grille ,revised rear design, flatter horizontal tailfins and new taillights.
This two door ‘Scenic coupé’ Oldsmobile presents well in white with a very smart contrasting interior that appears to have had little use.
