"The Morris Oxford was updated in October 1961 with a new 1.6 litre version of the B-Series engine, longer wheelbase and a new revised look. The Morris retained the Series V dash, while the design share Austin had an all-new fake woodgrain design. The Oxford VI remained in production until 1971 with 208,823 produced. The Oxford range was to have been replaced by the 1967 Morris 1800, but in the event, both were built until Oxford VI production ended in 1971 because, in terms both of pricing and of interior space, the 1800 fell into the market segment of a larger car. At the smaller end of the market the Oxford VI was replaced by the Morris Marina, which also succeeded the smaller Morris Minor.
Sold new to Lady Pamela J Goodale on 10th October 1966 who owned the car until 2011 when it was sold to a Mr. Page of Esher, he sold the car to Mr. Heffer of Aldershot and then it passed to the current owner in 2018, a Mr. Woodhouse of Addlestone. The car is presented in very good all-round condition indeed and is offered in Burgundy coachwork with original trim, again in good order. Offered with a history file containing the original handbook including stamped original service book, three workshop manual’s, a copy of the pre-delivery inspection report and V5 registration documents showing the three previous keepers only. Within the history is even two Momo books with logged trips in the car, distances covered, and costs associated, a lovely touch on such a car. Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until July 2022, this is a particularly nice example of the iconic Morris saloon.
