Matchless V2 Motor

Der Morgan Threewheeler ist ein britischer Roadster mit zwei Vorderrädern, nur einem Hinterrad und einem Zweizylinder-Frontmotor. Ein erster Prototyp wurde 1910 auf der Londoner Fahrrad- und Motorrad-Ausstellung der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.

Obwohl es keinen Plan für eine Serienfertigung gab, war das Interesse an dem kleinen Wagen so groß, dass Morgan in neue Gebäude und Maschinen investierte und ihn produzierte. Bis 1952 wurde er mit nur kleinen Veränderungen gebaut.

Durch das geringe Leergewicht von etwa 410 kg bis 460 kg je nach Modell und Baujahr waren die Threewheeler schnell und erreichten mit einer Motorleistung von etwa 40 PS in serienmäßiger Ausführung eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von etwa 130 km/h.

Außer den offenen Sportzweisitzern baute Morgan den Threewheeler als Cabriolet mit Klappverdeck und Motorhaube, als Lieferwagen und als Viersitzer.

Unser Wagen wurde 1934 in England erstzugelassen und verbleib dort bis in die 70er Jahre.

In den 70er und 80er Jahren diente er als Ausstellungstück in einem Büro, bevor er 1992 von einem Oldtimerfreund aus der Gegend von Euskirchen entdeckt und wieder zugelassen wurde.

Seit 2011 befindet er sich beim aktuellen Besitzer, einem Mitglied des Morgan Threewheeler Clubs, der den Wagen für regelmäßige Ausfahrten und Rallyeteilnahmen nutzte.

Bis heute ist der Morgan phantastisch original erhalten, Teile der Karosserie befinden sich noch immer im ersten Lack und rundum besticht der Threewheeler durch großartige original Details und charmante Patina.

The Morgan Threewheeler is a British roadster with two front wheels, only one rear wheel and a two-cylinder front engine. A first prototype was presented to the public at the London Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition in 1910.

Although there was no plan for series production, interest in the little car was so great that Morgan invested in new buildings and machinery and produced it. It was built with only minor modifications until 1952.

Due to the low unladen weight of about 410 kg to 460 kg depending on the model and year of construction, the Threewheelers were fast and reached a top speed of about 130 km/h with an engine output of about 40 hp in standard form.

Apart from the open sports two-seaters, Morgan built the Threewheeler as a convertible with folding top and bonnet, as a van and as a four-seater.

Our car was first registered in England in 1934 and remained there until the 1970s.

It has the sought-after "Matchless V2" engine, which unlike most other available Threewheeler engines is water-cooled.

In the 70s and 80s it served as a display piece in an office before it was discovered and re-registered in 1992 by a classic car enthusiast from the Euskirchen area.

Since 2011, it has been with the current owner, a member of the Morgan Threewheeler Club, who used the car for regular rides and rally participation.

To this day, the Morgan is in fantastic original condition, parts of the body are still in the first paint and all around the Threewheeler impresses with great original details and charming patina.
