From 1987 to 1989, a company called Modena Design produced replicas of the famous California Spider. A fiberglass body is attached to a tubular frame under the hood with a reliable, high-performance Ford 289 V-8. The cars are strikingly accurate and many would never be able to distinguish the real California and the Modena replica from the outside. That's why they have used Ferris Blue's one of Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the movie Ferris. The manufacturer then sued Modena Design and won an injunction. This has only made these cars more popular because now everyone knows how well they are made. According to reports, only 50 have been made and there are only 38. All these factors make the Modena recreational opportunities a unique, albeit strange, part of the story. The example shown here is particularly impressive with Nardi rims and spectacular Boranni style wire wheels. It looks as good as it looks, with excellent performance and great sound from the high-performance V-8 engine.
