Description
"The Mini was a made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960’s, and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout which allowed 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T. The Mini Mk. I had three major UK updates; the Mk. II, the Clubman and the Mk. III. The Mini Cooper and Cooper ‘S’ were sportier versions that were successful as rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally four times from 1964 through to 1967. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s the British market received numerous ‘special editions’ of the Mini, which shifted the car from a mass-market car into a fashionable icon.
Supplied originally by Wadham Stringer in Guildford on 1st April 1990 at a cost of £6,075.00. The only optional extra fitted to the car was automatic transmission which at the time cost £718.39 plus VAT. This one owner vehicle has only covered 22,298 miles from new and presents in very good original condition. This particular car has the front and rear bumpers and door handles painted in grey, which was a rare specification order at the time. Finished in Henley Blue with a light blue velour interior, this delightful one owner Mini Mayfair is supplied with the original sales invoice and a number of invoices, together with two sets of keys, a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th February 2022."
