Description

Technically, MG T-series cars were not exceptionally advanced, but they were easy to maintain, cheap to buy and, above all, fun. The cars had a robust four-cylinder engine with four-speed manual transmission and hydraulic brakes, dressed in a sporty open body. New, these MGs cost less than £1,000 and about 30,000 of them were built. The survival rate was surprisingly low, however, purely because the cars were not very expensive and a thorough restoration was economically irresponsible. So finding one that has been beautifully restored is quite difficult.

The MG TD we are offering is one such example that has been very nicely restored.

A little history about the car: This MG TD was delivered new in 1951 to a customer in the United States. The car drove around sunny California and thus found itself in a perfect climate.

In the summer of 1995, the car was purchased by a Dutch enthusiast who brought the car to the Netherlands.

The Dutchman carried out a very thorough restoration. The result is a particularly beautiful and very well-driving MG.

The restoration was mechanical and cosmetic and included almost all aspects of the car.

The bodywork was dismantled and repainted, the interior renewed, the engine overhauled and the suspension and braking system renewed.

From the outside, the car is in absolutely fantastic condition. The car has great paintwork and shows minimal signs of use. The chrome is very good, with light swirls and other marks, but is overall very nice. The car has an excellent black canvas convertible top without any damage.

The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. The wooden dashboard shows no damage and the seats and door panels are in excellent condition.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about this MG is the underside. You often see with restored cars that the underside is forgotten, but in the case of this MG it certainly isn't. The underside looks great and almost like new.

In short, a unique opportunity to acquire a fantastic MG TD. Copies like this are hard to find.
