Introduced in 1961, the new generation of Mercedes-Benz coupes and cabriolets was designed by Paul Bracq. Directly derived from the W111 saloon, the coupé was first sold as a 220 SE version and was replaced by the 280 SE. Equipped with a 2.5L in-line six cylinder engine, this elegant coupe was in its day one of the most expensive cars in the world. Following a lot of recent work (invoice file available), the car came safely by road. Our road test confirms that the car is running well, the engine is running smoothly and the brakes are efficient.
