In many respects, Nallinger gave his employees carte blanche, but in three respects he was adamant: the new car had to be safe for the passengers, it had to be spacious and it had to be launched no later than the autumn of 1959.

Everything inside the W111 was designed to be as comfortable as possible at the time. There was a heating system in which the right and left areas of the passenger compartment were made independent, a sort of very first two-zone setup. Furthermore, the spacious interior was also made bright by the large glass surfaces, which also contributed to optimum visibility from various angles.

This car has been preserved since 1993 and is in splendid condition. We have a long list of original spare parts and many new pieces available for replacement, such as some seals worn out by time over the last 25 years.
It has never been used in the rain. There are no signs of rust.
It has never suffered any accidents.

The car is registered at ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano).
