Description
"Production of the iconic Unimog started in Germany in 1948, from a design by Hans Zabel and it continues to this day. Intended, originally, as an agricultural vehicle but, like its contemporary the Land Rover, ended up filling an almost endless variety of other roles. Various power take-off points enable the Unimog to operate rotary equipment including brush mowers, snow blowers, loaders and conveyor belts. Named after the German acronym for Universal Motor Gadget, the Unimog, with its impressive capability, can be found in use by the military, various fire departments and as forest ranger vehicles. It has even won the truck class of the Dakar Rally more than once.
Manufactured in 1986, this canvas top Unimog ‘dropside’ with the manufacturer code of U1100, was imported from the Pakistan military into the United Kingdom in July 2019. This 5.7 litre German behemoth appears to have benefitted from regular maintenance with some additional works being completed by leading Unimog specialists, Atkinson Vos Ltd. of Lancaster. Described by the vendor as being in excellent running order and offered to auction with a V5C registration document and low mileage, this impressive Unimog is ready for new adventures."
