Up for auction is this Mercedes-Benz SL-Class from the R129 Series with a powerful 3.0 24V 6-cylinder engine. It has a 5-speed automatic. This complete SL is fitted with a large number of nice factory options. The bodywork is sprayed in 'Blauschwarz' 119U, a chic anthracite metallic paint. In addition, the black interior has perforated leather seats.

The SL R129 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1989. The production period ran from 1989 to 2001. Compared to its predecessor, it had many new safety features. One of them is the automatic roll bar. In the event of overturning, it would electromagnetically unfold in 0.3 seconds. A first in automotive production. Another novelty was the electric, hydraulic soft-top. Opening and closing only takes 30 seconds. An ABS braking system was standard since its introduction.

The car comes with a folder with Mercedes code cards and maintenance invoices for more than €3,300. All booklets are included. The SL has only driven 33,000 km in the last 10 years. No expense spared on maintenance given the car’s condition. The matching numbers engine has had a cylinder head overhaul. The Michelin tyres have very good tread. The soft-top was replaced in 2016. The car is undamaged and the seams on the sheet metal, doors, boot lid and bonnet fit together really well. The current owner has had the car for over 9 years.
