The R129 was one of the most successful series of the legendary Mercedes SL. Developed from the R107, which remained in production for a full 18 years, it was undoubtedly one of Bruno Sacco's masterpieces. The SL R129 was the result of a long gestation to introduce a new roadster that would break with the outdated lines of the previous series. The final model was presented at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show and soon won the public's favour as one of the most effective combinations of style and technology.

The sober and elegant lines and the perfect harmony of volumes hiding a very sophisticated mechanics, characterised by extensive use of electronics and advanced safety systems, made the 129 one of the most desirable and fashionable cars of the 1990s. Available with 6-, 8- and 12-cylinder engines, it gave pure driving pleasure to all its lucky owners. The first series, in production from 1989 until 1995, was characterised by the typical two-tone paintwork, with the lower half painted in matt colour. Appreciated for their reliability and power, the Sl have always been synonymous with German style and quality around the world.

The car presented here is the classic Barn Find, found in a warehouse in the capital, part of a large collection that was stopped working for various interventions and never completed. Complete with everything but sold in a non-functioning state as an excellent basis for restoration.
The interior is in good condition, in cream leather, perfectly matches the original green bodywork, now under a protective layer of easily removable white wrapping, while the door cuts have been painted white, with little difficulty they can be restored. The last periodic overhaul was in 2010. An excellent basis for conservative restoration or a complete source of spare parts, it is offered non-running in its current 'As Is' state. The dream of a timeless supercar at an affordable price to be completed in the garage with peace of mind and passion, sure to revalue.
