Delivered new to her first owner on May 16th 1986 by the concessionaire Caliber Motors Inc (today Mercedes-Benz of Anaheim) in Anaheim, California, this Mercedes 560 SL now has an odometer reading of 153900 miles (247678 kms), but is exceptionally well preserved and needs nothing done to her. The full service records and file of invoices show that she has been regularly maintained. The most recent service, carried out in France on November 23rd 2017 by the current French owner, included oil changes for the engine, gearbox and differential. The current keeper bought the car from a Mrs Peters who lived in Portland, Oregon and had owned her drop-head since 1992. The well cared for bodywork is very sound and shows no traces of corrosion. The leather upholstery and the carpets are immaculate and all the equipment functions perfectly, including the original Becker radio which has just benefitted from a renovation. The hood and its frame are as new and the hardtop completes the equipment. On the road, the car behaves as one would hope. The high torque V8 engine pulls strongly and revs freely and the automatic gearbox changes gear very smoothly. This robust and reliable Mercedes 560 SL will continue for a long time to provide luxurious and pleasant trips in the sun for a couple or a whole family.
