Description

1977 Mercedes 450 SL.

1977 Mercedes 450 SL convertible R107, 4.5L V8 engine, 3-speed automatic gearbox.

The vehicle hasn't been restored, and is in good to very good original condition, which is rare on the market.  This vehicle has always been driven every week and has been regularly maintained.

The Mercedes SL R107 represents one of the most commercially successful models, with a wide variety of engines available.
Apart from the 500, the 450 SL represents the top of the V8 range with its large, high-torque V8 engine.

The US models are less powerful versions compared to the European ones due to emission standards in California.

Nevertheless, there is still enough power and plenty of torque to guarantee a smooth and very comfortable ride.

These engines are also very durable, built to last, typically exceeding 500,000 km without any problem.
In particular, the 450 engine has a double-link timing chain which ensures longevity, unlike the 350 and 380 models with single-link chains, which require timing chain replacements.

This model is a US (California) import, currently located in France.
Cleared by customs, with a FFVE certificate and still under US registration.
Technical inspection completed without any issues in September 2022.

The extras are from the Mercedes US dealership: chrome wheels and paint trim.
