Description

"‘Over engineered’ is a term often used with the cars that come out of the Stuttgart factory at Mercedes-Benz and the W126 is no exception. This represents the ultimate specification when a budget was not an option and this represents part of the S-Class range or Sonderklasse, ‘special class’, in English. Indeed, thought to be most luxurious and most expensive large saloon money could buy, possibly even the best car in the world at launch. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious and more powerful with many new innovations including airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control. The W126 had a twelve-year production run, the longest of any S-Class generation since the flagship models were first built in the mid-1950’s.
Presented in a distinct Barolo Red with contrasting lovely velour interior, this excellent example has clearly been cherished over the years and with just two former keepers recorded, this is understandable. The wheels have all been refurbished and look beautiful, set off as they are, with new tyres as well. Other comforts include a factory sunroof and new black Mercedes-Benz floor mats. We are informed that it drives without fault backed up, as it is, with a light service and a full one year MoT test certificate.
Interested parties should note that a service was undertaken very recently although an MoT test was overlooked. The vendor has apologised for this and will finance one ‘post-auction’."
