Description
"The W126 debuted in 1979 and was the second generation to officially bear the S-Class name referring to Sonderklasse or ‘special class’. It was initially offered as a saloon car with straight-six, V8 and turbo diesel engines. In September 1981, a two-door coupé version of the W126 was introduced. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious, and powerful. The model sported a new Mercedes-Benz design style which was subsequently used on other vehicles in the company's line-up. The W126 also included many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations. The first airbag supplemental restraint systems, seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control system were added to the car’s specification.
Originally registered on 17th January 1992 this Mercedes-Benz has been owned by the vendor for the last five years. He has enjoyed the car immensely although he has used the car sparingly throughout his stewardship. Finished in the delightful colour combination of metallic black with grey leather interior this 420SEC comes with various service invoices and all the previous MoT certificates dating back to 1995. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full year’s MoT test certificate, this pillarless coupé is an iconic vehicle of the period and is becoming recognised as one of Mercedes-Benz’s finest designs. With values of SEC’s increasing significantly of late, this good example is offered for sale without reserve.
