Equipment
AMG Wide body Aero Kit, Limited Slip Differential, Blue Velour Seats with Pinstripe, AMG Steering Wheel, AMG Dials, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Blaupunkt Caracas C12 Radio / Cassette, Folding Armrest, Luggage Nets, Heated Rear window, Headrests in Rear, Headlamp wiper/Washer, Rear mounted Loudspeakers.

EXTERIOR
The iconic wide body arches of some of AMGs finest work do not disappoint here with this W126 looking aggressive, squat and very very wide. The Arctic White paint is in excellent order all over with a deep and glossy shine having recently been through a careful correction with our in-house team. Painted plastic lower trim panels present well fitted along with the AMG rear spoiler and deep wide bumpers. Light lenses front and rear show clear and crack free.

Glass is original as per Mercedes high build spec with a heated rear pane.

INTERIOR
The cabin space is covered in plush blue velour with a contemporary pinstripe and alongside the walnut trim you could not wish for a more 80’s feel. The hugely comfortable seats have survived very well, with no fraying or sagging to the bolsters, whilst the rear seats present in a similar vein. The carpet and mat set matches the blue theme and presents beautifully commensurate with age and mileage.

The dealer fitted from new AMG steering wheel is pride of place along with AMG dials, the speedo displaying a max of 200mph! Optional extra air conditioning is also a welcome addition along with an electric tilt and slide sunroof.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This SEC features a 300hp version of Merc’s mighty M117 V8 – arguably one of MB’s finest 8 cylinder engines. The story goes that the manufacturer were concerned about BMW’s incoming V12 bound for the E32 7 Series, so a ‘high output’ engine was developed with a a raised 10:1 compression ratio, different cams, ignition timing and an improved exhaust system; coded as the 822 / ECE version. This revised engine would only be available for a short time as emission laws in Europe and the US became more strict.

Having just returned from a post storage service and full check over with AmD Technik mechanicals are in good order.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original Penta by Ronal alloy wheels look absolutely stunning with a huge gold chrome deep dish and body colour centres; filling the enlarged arches to perfection both in size and offset for that iconic 80s stance.

Brakes are hidden behind the alloys, working are they should with good pedal feel.

HISTORY FILE
This stunning SEC was ordered new by the Witting Brothers Ltd in March of 1987 via Normand Ltd of Bromley.

In the UK at the time, AMG parts were made available and retro-fitted via the main dealer and this 560 received many special options. The wide body quarter panels (fibreglass front, steel rear) were ordered alongside the matching body kit to suit, as well as exhaust, springs and wheels. The steering wheel and dials were also optioned from new.

The original owners would go on to service the car on 4 occasions with the supplying dealer until sale to the second owner – R Inglefield – who would service the car another 7 times exclusively with the main dealer.

In 2007 the car found it’s 3rd owner – prominent AMG collector Neville Brown. The car would remain in his collection alongside many rare and unusual examples; only to be used sparingly in the summer months where servicing would be carried out by Brown’s in-house mechanic. Having recently been brought out of de-humidified storage, this unique SEC is available again to the open market after many years out of the public eye.

With 11 stamps in the original service book, and a multitude of invoicing for work carried out over the years, this exciting pre-merger AMG is available to view now here in our showroom.
