  • Delivered new to Japan in September 1991; now owned in the United Arab Emirates
  • Finished in factory-correct Blue-Black Metallic paint over a Black leather interior
  • Retains its matching-numbers 3.4-litre AMG-tuned straight-six engine producing 270 brake horsepower
  • A desirably specified example, with a full leather interior, air conditioning, cruise control, and an electric sunroof
  • Accompanied by its AMG Statement of Warranty document

Thought to be one of just 50 total examples completed to AMG 3.4 specification, this Mercedes-Benz 300 CE was delivered new to Japan in September 1991 and duly converted by AMG Japan. Under the bonnet, the venerable M104 inline-six was over-bored to 3.4-litres and the crank upgraded to increase stroke, while bespoke AMG camshafts improved top-end performance, unlocking an extra 40 brake horsepower and bringing the total output to 270.

The body was also adorned with the full “widebody” kit, featuring flared wheel arches, three-piece deep-dish AMG split-rim wheels by OZ Racing, rear spoiler, and deep front air dam. The interior benefits from upgraded heated and electronically adjustable Recaro seats, factory-fitted “Tempomatic” air conditioning, AMG steering wheel, gear knob, and AMG instrument cluster. The car was further specified with heat-insulating windows, an electric sunroof, and cruise control.

The car remained in its adopted home of Japan for some time, before being exported to the United Arab Emirates. The car’s odometer displays 153,937 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, and importantly the 300 CE retains its matching-numbers 3.4-litre AMG powerplant. Accompanied by its owner’s manuals and finished in its factory-correct colours of Blue-Black Metallic over a Black leather interior, this is the ultimate incarnation of the six-cylinder C124.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/0125/.
