Many of these body panels were built from carbon fibre, along with interior panels too. Front and rear track were widened by 74 and 110mm respectively and special tyres, produced specifically for the car, allowed 1.35g of lateral acceleration. The supercharged 5.4-litre (M113) V8 produced an astonishing 582bhp and 590 lb-ft resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8secs and a top speed in excess of 200 mph although, in the interests of common sense, the cars were electronically limited to 300km/h (188 mph). Originally priced at the equivalent of around £161,000 when launched, very high profile customers only were ‘ invited’ to become owners, including F1 drivers of the day such as Mika Hakkinen, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Jenson Button.</div><div><br /></div><div>Of the 180 examples built ((100 coupes and 80 convertibles), only 40 were ever built with right-hand drive, and this very low mileage example surely must rank as one of the best. The car has covered only 7,580 miles in the hands of its two private owners, and its condition is commensurate with this. It is supplied with a fully documented Mercedes Service History record, a fresh UK MOT, and the perfect number plate DT55 AMG.</div><div>This is by far one of the most exclusive and sought-after limited-edition Mercedes-Benz models of recent years, and one we feel has an excellent future in the classic car market. More information is available from the office and we welcome any inspection of this remarkable motor car.</div></div><div><br /></div>
