The McLaren Elva we are presenting has been designed for pure speed. This mechanical sculpture features an aerodynamic design inspired directly by F1 technology. A strict 2-seater, our example is one of the few Elvas built without a windscreen.
When you take to the controls, you are in touch with the technical lineage descended from racing and particularly Formula 1. Seen as such, dedicated to the ultimate driving experience, the McLaren Elva combines the sensations of an F1 single-seater while allowing two people to experience this on the open road. But this McLaren Elva is also the exclusivity of the made-to- measure, having benefitted from MS0 expertise - McLaren Special Operations, whose motto is "the art of the possible". Ultra-lightweight at 1 150kg, super-powerful with 815 bhp at 7 250 rpm, its twin-turbo V8 engine descended from the mythical Senna, but also versatile with incredible torque of 800 Nm at 5 500 rpm... Figures worthy of a race car escaped from the starting grid at the Le Mans 24 Hours. To protect its passengers from swirling air and dirt flying up from the road, the car has a unique aerodynamic system known as AAMS, consisting of a moveable carbon blade at the front that deflects the airflow to create a zone of low- pressure above the cockpit. Still focusing on the aerodynamics, our Elva is equipped with DRS, as on Formula 1 cars, to reduce the drag and increase acceleration. With this set-up, our McLaren Elva is capable of reaching speeds of over 320 km/h, placing it amongst the fastest cars in its class. The brakes match its performance, with carbon-ceramic discs, 39cm in diameter, fitted with six-piston calipers at the front and four at the rear, painted Nardo orange and marked with optional oval plates stamped with the McLaren logo.
Reserved for the driver, the best seat is in front of the steering wheel. Once in through the elytron doors, the driver can seat easily thanks to the dashboard connected to the steering column which will adjust to fit the driver’s shape. Encased in carbon, the passengers are protected by a ‘survival cell’ also developed from competition and built to Monocell II specification. The cockpit of this example has features specific to MSO models such as the McLaren Burnt Orange treatment on the stitching on the alcantara-clad carbon seats, the central marque of the steering wheel and the "Elva" signatures on the headrests. Superb in its Gloss Graphite Grey livery, this unique example remains unregistered but has been accepted into the EU, offering currently the only opportunity to buy a still new and already collectable, ultra-rare McLaren Elva.
