"Maybach Motorenbau was a manufacturer founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son. In 1960, Maybach was acquired by Daimler-Benz and still remains as a luxury brand of Mercedes-Benz. Daimler produced an ultra-luxury edition of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class under the Maybach brand thus creating an even more magnificent vehicle and offering unrivalled luxury and specification. To promote the new Maybach line, Mercedes-Benz engaged figures such as Maybach heir, Ulrich Schmid-Maybach together with golfer Nick Faldo to serve as brand ambassadors.
