Description
One of the most beautiful cars ever designed is offered for sale: the Maserati Sebring 3500 GTi, series 1.
This Maserati has been in my possession for six years now.
It is a condition 2 car with a wonderful colour (Grigio Grafto) and original red leather upholstery. It drives perfectly. The engine and the colours of the car and the interior are all matching.
Virtually all parts of the interior still have their original leather upholstery. This includes the seats, back seats, door panels, centre console, parking brake, gear stick and parcel shelf. This gives the car a wonderful patina and together with the dark-grey colour (not metallic) it forms one of the most beautiful combinations, possibly even the most beautiful combination of all. This combination gives the car an amazing appearance.
The chrome on the outside is perfect and largely still original. The same can be said of the dashboard, the gauges, the switches and the steering wheel. They are all complete and original. Even the Vignale badge intended for the car radio is still in place.
The car features 16-inch bi-metal Borani wheels with hubcaps and new tyres.
The car was delivered in Nice on 1 January 1964, with license plate 9194 RP 06. The prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes department, monsieur Adolphe Corat, confirms this in a letter with the name of the first owner. The car now has a Dutch registration number: PM-09-67.
The Lucas injection system has been completely overhauled and implemented. The mechanical parts of the car have also been professionally checked in their entirety.
The valves and guides of the engine have been replaced, the cylinder heads have been milled and the timing chain, alternator and ignition coil have been replaced as well.
The car also has completely new brakes as well as a new, custom-made, stainless-steel exhaust. The engine is famous and comes directly from the world of racing. It is a straight-six engine, 3500 cc, 265 DIN hp, with Lucas injection.
Various photos of the restoration, the painting and replacement of mechanical parts are available.
All in all, this is a beautiful car with the best colour scheme that drives remarkably well and fast.
The car can be viewed in Naarden, the Netherlands. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
