Built as a tribute to the 1950s Lotus VI, Colin Chapman's first production vehicle and formed in 1989, Wisbech-based Tiger offer a range of models of road and race cars including the HS6. The Lotus VI was introduced by Colin Chapman in 1952 after previously building multiple trials and road racing cars. The heart of the Mark VI was a semi-space frame chassis. Rather than a complete car, it was available to the general public as kit, wherein the customer could install any preferred engine and gearbox, making it eligible for a wider number of formulae. Perfect therefore for the HS6 replicating the original.
This car is a 2014 factory built Evocation (really does looks 70 years old) correctly registered by the manufacturer as a HS 6. A fantastic example which we are informed has never failed an MoT or had any advisories. Finished in white with black nose cone boasting various rally stickers and period metal badges from its escapades with previous owners. Twin Omega timing clocks really help give it that period race feel and are used when on timed rallies. The previous owner stated that the car is 'a real head turner that corners like it's on rails' this due to the shock absorbers that are Spax adjustable coil overs to the front and rear coupled to flexible brake lines in stainless steel. A track enthusiast he declared this is 'one of the best driving cars he's ever owned'. This stunning looking recreation features electronic ignition with new distributor, coil, leads and plugs, the Twin SU carburettors have been overhauled and cleaned. Offered with an MoT with no advisories, this is an opportunity to own an authentic replica of a Lotus VI that has the charm and period patina of the original, all the fun of the original at a fraction of the cost. Castle Comb here we come or just to get the papers on a Sunday and enjoy the drive. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
