2005 LOTUS ELISE S2
Sold without a registration document
- Not registered in France
- 192 bhp Toyota engine
- For track use or parts only
Introduced in 1996, the first Lotus Elise was the car that enabled the brand to escape the torments that had plagued it since the 1980s. The Esprit, Elan and Elite were not as successful as had been hoped. It was time to return to its roots. Lightness, responsiveness and manoeuvrability were the key words guiding the Elise project. The result was a benchmark in the world of ‘Light is right’. A fibreboard body set on an epoxy-bonded aluminium chassis, a four-cylinder engine from the Rover catalogue placed in a central rear position, a spartan cabin that was nonetheless comfortable once you crossed the door sill - all to the benefit of driving sensations, even more so than pure performance. The second generation of the Elise was launched in 2001. Slightly heavier, at 710 kg unladen, it offered a more qualitative presentation to appeal to a wider customer base. In 2004, it was fitted with a new Toyota engine developing 136bhp.
Today's model is a second series Lotus Elise S, launched in 2005.
Immobilised for a number of years, this model cannot be registered in France, so it is intended for track use or parts only.
