Among our automotive friends are many purists and enthusiasts of lightweight cars. And of course they already know it for quite some time: the Lotus Elise is the top of the range within this exclusive segment. Of course there are a few other brands to mention, but they all can not compare with the Elise in terms of quality, appearance or performance. Or they are extremely expensive. The Lotus Elise really offers the most value for money for the enthusiast. For instance the one we offer now can be called the real deal: the georgeous Cup version. The wannahave Elise from year 2016 and which, aside from the amazing performance, has all the options we would like to see: a fantastic yellow color, the extra large spoilers and diffusers, a wonderfully handy and removable suede steering wheel , a great and never annoying sounding sports exhaust, handy cruise control and 4-point seat belts.

Also, the also optional soft top is not missing. The Cup version was only supplied with a hardtop, but the second owner (since 2019 till now) thought it was very handy to have a soft top, in case the rain shows up and the, not separately transportable, hardtop would still be at home. And he was right, because open driving is for many enthusiasts an extra dimension. A must do to experience that.

We could write whole pages about this Lotus Elise 220 Cup: the magnificient road holding, how much driving pleasure it gives, how perfect the overall finish of the aluminum chassis and the plastic body is, how phenomenal the 1800 cc. 16 V DOHC engine with supercharger runs, and is ready at any speed for a quick response from the 222 horsepower. We do not describe all of that in detail, because a look at You Tube and dozens of videos say more than our descriptions.

Onder onze automobielvrienden zitten veel puristen en liefhebbers van lightweight auto’s. En die weten het natuurlijk al heel lang: de Lotus Elise staat eigenlijk op eenzame hoogte binnen dit exclusieve segment. Natuurlijk zijn er nog wel een paar andere merken te noemen, maar die zijn het allemaal net niet qua kwaliteit, uitstraling of prestaties. Of ze zijn extreem duur. De Lotus Elise biedt voor de liefhebber echt het meest. Hebben we het dan, zoals het exemplaar dat we nu aanbieden, over de Cup versie; dan hebben we het over de real deal. Dé wannahave Elise van bouwjaar 2016 en die, even de verbluffende prestaties terzijde, alle opties in huis heeft de we graag willen zien: een fantastische en opvallende gele kleur, de extra grote spoilers en diffusers, een heerlijk in de hand liggend en afneembaar suède stuurwiel, een geweldige en nooit vervelend klinkende sportuitlaat, handige cruise control en 4-punts veiligheidsgordels.

Ook ontbreekt de eveneens optionele softtop niet. De Cup versie werd namelijk alleen geleverd met een hardtop, maar de tweede eigenaar (sinds met 2019 tot heden) vond het maar al te handig om er een softtop bij te hebben, voor het geval de regen zich liet zien en de niet separaat mee te nemen hardtop nog thuis zou liggen. En gelijk had hij, want open rijden kan voor veel liefhebbers een extra dimensie geven. Een must om dat te ervaren.

We kunnen hele pagina’s vol schrijven over deze Lotus Elise 220 Cup: hoe vreselijk goed hij rijdt, hoe enorm veel rijplezier hij geeft, hoe perfect de algehele afwerking van het aluminium chassis en de kunststof carrosserie is, hoe fenomenaal de 1800 cc. 16 V DOHC motor met supercharger loopt, en bij elk toerental in is voor een snelle reactie van de 222 pk’s. Dat omschrijven we dus allemaal niet uitgebreid, want een blik op You Tube en tientallen video’s zeggen meer dan onze omschrijvingen.

Begint het daarna dan echt te kriebelen en kunt u de verleiding niet weerstaan om met ons een bezichtiging af te speken..? Wees dan gewaarschuwd, want deze werkelijk van voor- tot achterspoiler als nieuwe en origineel in Nederland geleverde en van de tweede eigenaar afkomstige Elise, is er een die een onuitwisbare indruk achterlaat. Met zijn slechts 28.900 kilometer op de teller, subliem behandeld en importeur onderhouden, is het welhaast onmogelijk om er een van een gelijke kwaliteit en prijs te vinden. Uniek in zijn soort dus.
