Description

Unveiled at Tokyo Motor show in 2009. The Lexus LFA realized the vision of chief engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi to be a global icon for the Lexus brand. It is the first production V 10 ever produced in Japan and assembled by hand and used high-end materials such as carbon fibre, titanium, magnesium and aluminium

The V 10 engine developed with Yamaha is regarded as a technological marvel. The extremely quick throttle response and sharp vocal exhaust note of the V 10 combine to provide one of the most exhilarating and unique driving experiences. The LFA’s V 10 engine can rev from 0 to 9000 rpm in only 0.6 seconds and is made possible by using variable valve timing, titanium valves, titanium connecting rods and 10 individual throttle bodies. A dry sump lubrication system was used to prevent oil starvation during high speed cornering and braking is via Brembo six piston calipers up front with carbon ceramic disks

The chassis is a carbon fibre reinforced polymer tub with bolt on sub frames which assists to reduce the weight to just over 1480 kg

Only 500 examples were produced which makes the Lexus LFA a must have limited edition supercar for any car collection
