Description

"The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin.
This wonderful 50th Anniversary Edition was supplied new in September 1998, to its first owner who covered a mere 41,000 miles and the second owner has only added another 6,000 miles to that total! All the vehicle’s services are recorded in the handbook, plus other invoices for occasional other works that have been carried out. Only 385 of these limited edition 50th Anniversary models were made for the U.K. and this particular Land Rover is original with no modifications or restoration being carried out. Presented in Atlantis Blue with grey cloth interior and powered by the smooth V8 engine which is mated to an automatic gearbox. This Land Rover is certainly desirable and extremely useable with low mileage as a bonus. A great utility vehicle in good condition."
