Model history

From the mid-1960s until the early 1990s, Lancia was a major force in international rallying. The Lancia Delta is one of the most successful rally cars ever, having won the World Rally Championship for manufactures six times between 1987 and 1992. The Evoluzione Delta was introduced in 1992 and won the championship for a sixth year in succession, before Lancia withdrew from the sport at the end of 1993. The four evolutions of the Delta won 46 World Championship events and their run of six successive Championships remains a world record.

Presented in 1993, the Evoluzione II featured an updated version of the 2-litre 16-valve turbo engine to produce more power: 158kW; 212 hp and maximum torque of 314 Nm. The Marelli integrated engine control system integrated a three-way catalyst and pre-catalyst with oxygen sensor (Lambda probe) on the turbine outlet link. Only 3 exterior colors were available: Bianco, Rosso and Blu. The interior was always beige alcantara with diagonal stitching. Additional colors and trim combinations were only available trough limited editions.

This example

This Lancia Delta Integrale EVO II was sold new to a company in Gundelfingen in Germany, via Fiat-Lancia dealer Autohaus Eller in Dillingen, on 30 July 1993. The original service book and German papers are still with the car.

In December 1999, the car was exported to the United Kingdom. The English registration paperwork also comes with the car. In 2000 the engine was rebuilt and a cylinder head overhaul was performed by Lancia specialist Richard Thorne at 82.141 km. In 2007 at 99.395km the car was parked for 10 years. In 2017 the car was thoroughly recommissioned of which a comprehensive photo file is available. Rust at standard spots like the rear windows was cut out and the car was repainted to a high standard.

Then in 2018 the car was imported into Holland. Several invoices from service work in Holland are available as well as a valuation report for insurance purposes. A certificato d’origine by Lancia Classiche was issued in September 2021. A well kept and maintained Delta Evo II.  Beautifully finished in Rosso Monza with a beige alcantara interior with a leather MOMO steering wheel. Dutch registered and APK (like MOT/TUV/CT).
