Description
"The Jensen Healey was designed in a joint venture by Donald Healey and William Towns with Jensen Motors and it was hoped that Healey could help to contribute the sense of style that made the Austin Healey a hit. Jensen looked to Lotus for the power plant as they had a new, untested engine available, thus all Jensen Healey models came equipped with the new 1973cc Lotus 907 engine. This multi-valve engine has a claim to be the first to be used in a 'mass produced' car with a setup producing approximately 144bhp and a top speed of 119mph and accelerating from 0-60mph in just 8.1 seconds.
This attractive Jensen has benefitted from a comprehensive restoration and some well thought out enhancements to the body. The car now has a much sleeker front end, a revised and more impressive rear light section and the whole car has been completely resprayed. The photographic history of this is present in the history file. The seats have been upgraded to Cobra Le Mans Heritage reclining seats and the black trim complements the cars bright red paintwork. The striking looks of this Jensen are matched by the impressive history folder that accompanies it. The file contains 22 previous MoT test certificates including the current one which, although this car is exempt by virtue of its age is valid until May 2022. There are also servicing bills which in the last three years total over £11,000 and the V5C registration document, an original owner’s handbook and the manufacturer supplied sales literature. Considering how much fun they are to drive, the recent servicing history and the extremely reasonable estimate, this Jensen offers an opportunity that should not be overlooked.
