Is there anyone on earth who has never seen a Willys Jeep? We wonder. The vehicle has an iconic appearance. Anyone who has ever seen a Hollywood movie or an old photo will most likely be well acquainted with the phenomenon that is a Willys Jeep. Whilst a Willys Jeep is virtually unstoppable, it still manages to radiate a rather cute character. Maybe because for many it is the ultimate embodiment of freedom and liberation. It is not surprising Willys MB still has an enormous cult following. After the second world war many Willys Jeeps remained in Europe and mostly ended up with enthusiasts, as did our example. It was meticulously restored between 2010 and 2014. This Jeep was completely dissembled right down to the very last screw, making it a proper body-off job. Whilst being a relatively simple car mechanically, it took a considerable amount of work to get it up to level it now has. The car was taken back to bare metal following which it was, precisely and with great care, put back together. The chassis, subframes and bodywork were all resprayed. All rubbers and bushes were replaced with the engine, transmission and diff rebuilt together with a fully reupholstered interior trim. A nice besides is the new cable loom and transformed electrically system that was upgraded from 6 to the more reliable and current 12 volts system. This Willys also has the necessary accessories such as various stickers, a weapons holder, a radio pack aerial as well as of course the obligatory axe. As can be expected this fully restored Willys is in perfect working order. The car has only been used sparingly and remains in shipshape condition. The restoration process has been duly recorded with many invoices and photos. Whilst the Willys Jeep was initially intended as a proper workhorse, these days it is a real aged veteran. In this case a very fit vet at that, one who stills enjoys raking up memories when out and about! Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975!
