Description
"The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in either coupé or convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph, the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling Xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test-drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.
Originally registered on 31st March 2006, this XKR coupé presents beautifully in Satin Silver with Charcoal leather interior. This well appointed Jaguar comes with a good service history, the first part being by a main dealer and latterly servicing work has been carried out by Chelsfield Motor Works Ltd. in Orpington, Kent. Clearly this has been a very well looked after example, the paintwork is unmarked and the interior is also in very good order, with the Recaro seats showing minimal signs of wear. The XK8 was a sensation when it arrived at market in 1996 and the supercharged version was and always has been tremendous to drive. This 4.2-S example is no exception, offering smoothness and comfort when in traffic, yet blistering performance when on the open road. Offered for sale with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th January 2024, these supercharged Jaguars are surely a classic car of the future.
