Description
Jaguar XK150 3.8S DHC 1960
If you would fancy owning a Jaguar XK which no-one else possesses, this is the one!
Just 87 examples of the Jaguar XK150 3.8S DHC were produced of which only 19 examples in LHD!
This is the final evolution of the XK series which was the best and most highly developed, featuring already the mighty twin overhead cam 3.8 litre 6-cylinder producing 265 HP, just like in the new Jaguar E-type which was to be launched in 1961.
Easily recognisable at the decorative chrome “S” on the forward corner of each door, and when opening the bonnet at the row of 3 SU HD8 carburettors, the 3.8S Jaguar XK150 culminates all the technological developments such as race-bred four-wheel disc brakes, the first fitted to any production car, providing stopping power to match the car’s prodigious performance enabling a top speed of 217 Km/h.
On the 150 also the styling was updated with a higher belt line and a full one-piece panoramic windscreen offering roomy seating comfort to driver and passenger + two small children.
Sourced by Marreyt Classics in 2016 in the UK for our loyal Jaguar XK collector/customer, this Jaguar was in excellent condition, matching numbers and matching colours.
Once in our classic car workshop, our team invested quite some effort in further detailing and servicing this rare, top-of-the-range Jaguar XK.
Admit that the final result in gleaming black on chrome wire wheels nicely complemented with a burgundy leather interior, a beige hood and hood cover, can only be described as splendid.
Driving this beauty is a sensational sportscar experience. Excellent seating position even for tall drivers, perfect wind protection and visibility, precise steering, phenomenal acceleration transmitted through the standard 4-speed box with overdrive and excellent braking power.
Great fun!
