Description
"Jaguar’s famous win at Le Mans in 1990 in the classic purple and white, Silk Cut livery not only secured their prominence in Group C sportscars but also launched celebrations at Brown’s Lane culminating in the XJ-S Le Mans edition. Limited to 280 cars, there were special edition features which included twin headlights, latticed alloy wheels, sports suspension, embossed Autolux seating and a special numbered plaque on each sill. Produced in very low numbers, these limited editions are now very collectible. Registered as number 151 out of the 280 units made, this example is presented in Solent Blue with a magnolia leather interior. Complete with a High Efficiency engine giving improved fuel efficiency, this Le Mans model has an extraordinary history file with it, all contained within a JDHT leather binder. Every single service record, MoT test certificate (including current expiring February 2020) and Jaguar purchase pack as well as ‘The History of the Jaguar XJ-S’ by Den Carlow and a complete XJ-S Mechanics manual. This, however, is something of a rolling restoration with faded paintwork on the offside front wing and recent damage and corrosion to the nearside mid and rear sections. The interior is perfectly usable although the driver’s seat requires renovation. At its heart though, still very much an XJ-S Le Mans."
