Description
Jaguar celebrated its overall win at the 1988 Le Mans 24 hours race with a limited edition of the well-known XJS V12 coupe. All the cars were painted in British racing green with a light tan leather interior and were identified with a plaque on the centre console. The example offered, #19 of 65 Le Mans special editions built, is a Swiss delivery. The car was first registered on the 1st May 1989 and on the 12th of the same month delivered to its first order by garage Epper in Lucerne. After a few changes of ownership, the rare coupé was taken over by the vendor at the end of 2016. He had a set of golden 16-inch BBS rims installed together with the beautiful twin headlights which originally had been reserved for US-versions. Naturally all the original parts are available and will be handed over with the car. After a longer period of inactivity, the Jaguar was taken out of its hibernation in 2023, followed by a replacement of all engine seals and gaskets, the electronic ignition boxes and the ignition distributor caps. Later on, all cambelts, all brake discs and pads as well as the air conditioning compressor were replaced. The front brake callipers were overhauled and an oil change was performed. Around 15’000 francs were invested in the car‘s mechanics and the receipts for the work are available. With 190’000 kilometres showing, the Jaguar is in very good overall condition with the coachwork repainted some years ago and the interior equipped with a new headlining. The last MOT was completed in 2009 but for a Swiss buyer the Jaguar will be freshly MOT’d.
